Participatory programmes

Faro Santander’s Participatory Programmes seek to build deep relationships with the community through artistic projects rooted in the local area. Our aim is to open our doors to the public so that, through the arts, this centre remains alive, responsive to social realities and able to contribute to inclusion, participation and joint learning. 

Faro was created with a commitment to placing participatory arts at its core, dedicating the Marisma and Atelier spaces to showcasing this encounter between artistic creation, the community and the region.

Creating culture together 

At Faro, we see participation as a form of cultural creation, as culture is built collectively. Each project brings together artists and diverse community groups to work collaboratively, generating new knowledge and ways of interpreting the world around us.

Faro Santander’s commitment starts in its immediate surroundings, both urban and rural, and extends to a national and international level. Every territory has a story to tell and something to learn from others. The museum is the perfect space to build bridges between different realities and construct shared narratives—a place where ideas, practices and communities connect.
