Education and mediation programmes

At Faro Santander, we believe that direct experience with art transforms the way we think, feel and relate to one another. Our Education and Mediation programmes take place both inside and outside Faro, connecting artists, schools, families and community groups through experiences of play, creation and shared research. 

Faro is a place to learn, experiment and dialogue; an open space for the exchange of ideas and the collective building of knowledge.

Llamita, a space to play, create and share

Llamita is a unique space within Faro Santander. Conceived as a gallery dedicated to playful and artistic experimentation, it invites visitors to imagine through play and to create through shared practices that require time and presence.

It is also the heart of our educational offering. Its way of understanding art runs through the entire Education and Mediation programme, inspiring its methodologies and showcasing the processes and visual creations of the children and young people who participate.

Llamita has been curated by Sara San Gregorio; her intervention proposes reigniting the flame of play, giving it the importance it deserves by making it astonishing, extraordinary and beautiful. The colourful furniture, experimental materials and many of the games found here were also created by her. The space additionally features elements designed by the architecture studio Acha Zaballa.  

Access to Llamita is open throughout Faro’s opening hours to anyone wishing to enjoy shared playtime accompanied by our mediators.
