In conversation: Vanessa Boni and Carolina Erdocia

Vanessa Boni, curator of the exhibition The Symptomatic Surreal: Leonora Carrington, and Carolina Erdocia, Head of Exhibitions at Faro, will hold a conversation focusing on the artist and her relationship with Santander.
 

Carrington, one of the most fascinating and unique figures of Surrealism, was admitted to Dr Morales's clinic following a psychotic breakdown that proved decisive in her subsequent work, including the creation of Down Below, one of the most moving works of twentieth-century world literature.
 

In this encounter, Vanessa Boni and Carolina Erdocia will explore the connection between Carrington’s language—characterised by its focus on the unconscious, the mythological, trauma, magic and symbolism—and her relationship with our city, delving into one of the most unique artistic visions of the twentieth century.
