The artworks, documents, materials and sketches on display on this occasion illustrate the research and working processes of the four projects selected in the first open call of this programme. Although they use different languages, media and methods, all four approach the image as a place from which to revisit memory and activate new readings of the present. Flesh & Films / Pieles y pantallas by Iribarren & De la Riva retrieves an educational archive and proposes a body-centred reinterpretation; Una forma minúscula by Salón de belleza explores audiovisual genealogies and the construction of collective memory; Suite de los Riconchos by Casapalma uses an audiovisual suite to investigate traditional Cantabrian folk dance; and Ludarquías by Amaia Bregel shifts the logic of the pictorial game onto the spatial device. In all of them, existing forms, traditions, gestures and images are reinterpreted and take on new meaning in the present.
